How do I know that it's time?

We understand that end-of-life decisions are deeply personal, and we're here to support you with compassion and clarity every step of the way. Our team is available to provide guidance, answer your questions, and offer the level of presence and involvement that feels right for you and your family. We also recognize that end-of-life care begins before the final goodbye. During this time, we work closely with you to keep your pet as comfortable as possible, managing pain, mobility changes, and other age-related challenges with dignity and empathy. Our goal is to help you make the most of this stage together, in whatever way feels right for your pet and your family.

How do you support my pet's well-being later in life?

We view the factors and considerations that support your pet's well-being as a whole - not just physical health - as a pyramid. The physical items form the base of the pyramid and include techniques to handle pets safely and recommended environmental changes to support utmost comfort. The middle part of the pyramid takes into account social factors, such as the need for continued engagement and interactions with people. This helps to minimize isolation while respecting a sick or ageing pet's boundaries. At the top of the pyramid resides the emotional components, which focus on maintaining your pet's dignity and minimizing stressors during this transition.

Do I have to be present during the actual process?

This is a personal decision for you and your family. You may choose to be with your pet, or, you may say your goodbyes in your own time and when you are ready to do so. We also want to ensure that your pet is properly celebrated. When you're ready, we can also discuss cremation, memorial services, and remembrance options. We have found these services to be healing and meaningful for our clients as they and their pets transition with acceptance and peace beyond their current stage or challenging circumstances.

Our pets' companionship is a true gift. We honour and celebrate that truth and relationship during every season of life. If you have any concerns about your pet or need specific information about end-of-life services, contact our team in midtown Toronto, ON, at (647) 560-9276 today.
